Young adults face a wide variety of mental health issues. In fact, it’s been estimated that teens and young adults suffer from higher levels of mental health issues and stress, compared to older individuals.
I’m an experienced mental health therapist in O’Fallon, IL. I understand the issues that are facing today’s youth. Young adults face a huge variety of stresses – from the transition into adulthood and self-sufficiency, to career problems, relationship issues, social problems, and more.
That’s what I’m here to help you with. For young adults, I offer a place that’s safe and free from judgment. I’m here to listen to you, and provide you with the strength and encouragement that you need to face the unique challenges of growing up in our modern world.
I focus on supportand empowerment. I’m here to listen to you, understand the issues that you’re facing, and help you create a path forward – a solution-based strategy that can help you overcome your personal issues, and grow as a person.
By using a cognitive behavior based approach, I provide my clients with a truly individual and personal relationship. At the same time, I encourage the creation of active, goal-oriented strategies that will help you overcome your fears, anxieties, and personal struggles.
My therapeutic approach for young adults has three primary goals.
- Create a safe, inviting counseling environment – My focus is on creating a place where my clients can share their story – no matter how personal. To that end, I focus on creating an environment that’s welcoming and free of judgment.
- Educate and support clients – An educational approach to therapy is especially important for young adults. My goal is to make it clear to my clients that they are not alone – that many young adults suffer from similar issues.
- Empower clients to make positive changes in their own lives – True change comes from within when we are heard. I am a guide and a teacher, but only my clients can change their lives for the better. This is why my goal is to empower clients to make their own decisions, and take action to improve their lives.
I look forward to hearing from you – and helping you live your best life!
